First live broadcast in 4K HDR in Spain

10/07/2017

The Chair has participated in a live TV broadcast in Spain in 4K High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology. Several companies collaborate in offering the broadcast of the Solemn Changing of the Royal Guard from the Royal Palace in Madrid on July the 5th at 12.00h.

The 4K or Ultra High Definition (UHD) is one of the major technological revolutions of the audiovisual and evolves towards the HDR (High Dynamic Range), a new standard of image quality that increases brightness and balances light and dark areas.

The broadcast is part of the activities of the Chair of RTVE in UPM, established in 2015, which has led to the development of a number of UHD experiences for these two years.
